An unbeatable advantage of the LED is its physical life. LEDs have an average physical life of 50.000 hours (in case of ideal operating conditions). This complies to a physical life of 5,7 years when it continuously operates 24 hours per day. If it operates 12 hours per day (continuous operation by night), it complies to a physical life of 11,4 years. Therefore, the LED is almost maintenance-free.
